August/September

Rag Quilts
we had a few friends having baby boys around September so I made some for thier babies, where are all the girls? Everyone we know had a boy or is having a boy!
I actually gave a couple away before I remembered to take the pictures, there was 2 more. I made 2 of each, the animals and the stars+moon.
my favorite is the animal print one, it just turned out so cute.
I hope our friends liked them, I know I love the one my friend Jenny made for Annie!

SEPTEMBER'S PROJECT>>

Hooter Hiders!
my great friend Lisa sent me instructions on how to make these.
they are amazing, every nursing mother should have one.
(a little Deal or No Deal on in the background)
they cover great and little hands can't rip the blanket off your shoulder and expose you!
as I was packing for NY, I thought to myself I should make one of those hooter hiders so I can nurse annie on the airplane and while we were strolling around NY. and it worked great. I whipped this up the day before we left in about 45 minutes from start to finish..
if your interested leave me a comment and I would love to make you one!

August's Project

Well in August we had a service auction for enrichment, it was so much fun! so what you do is donate a service, you can either make something, teach someone to make it, or provide some kind of service. Then they auction all the items and you bid for what you want. they had this list of things to get your points to bid, for example; did you say your prayers this morning?-15 points, for every person you told "I love you"-5 points each etc. Well since there are about 6 hairstylists in my ward and my salon isn't done yet I thought I would do something else... so I made these cute little

TU-TU'S
this is the one I made for the girl who bid and won!

it's pink, orange and yellow, so cute!

this one was for Annie's friend Gabry, I made it for her birthday

it's purple, lavender and white

(isn't my model oh so cute?!)

well I have made a few more for some girls in the ward and other birthday parties...

and when my salon/boutique opens I will be selling them there.

I sell them now too!

they are for sell in any color and as many colors as your little heart desires for $15-$25!

(well just about any color)

it all depends on how big and how many colors.

let me know if you want one.

they are super fun for dress-ups!

JULY'S PROJECT>>

a cute, easy bag!it's actually made out of dish towels,
I saw it in a quilters magazine at the store, read the directions, went home and whipped this puppy up in about 20 minutes.

a fRogGy bLanKy

made April 2008a froggy blanky for my froggy baby!
ever since Annie was born she has reminded Dan of a frog, just the way she would and still does curl up her legs, she has them up to her sides almost under her armpits and not up by her chest like the typical 'fetal' position.
and now that she can sit up she will sometimes put her hands in between her spread out legs, she looks like a sitting frog..she is so flexible, she's almost always in the middle splits!!
I made this during Saturday mornings confrence session. it was so quick. I don't really like the yarn ties so I didn't do them, I just did little sew patterns randomly all over so the batting wouldn't bunch when washed.

A diApEr bAg

made March 2008outside..
inside.. cool pockets eh?
and a matching changing pad. the white side is a waterproof fabric that just wipes clean and it folds up really small.
I was making one of these for my friend Sam's baby shower and decided I needed one for myself, so I just made them at the same time.
Hers actually turned out really cute but I forgot to take a picture of it, it was just like mine but instead of the red and orange flowers it is 2 different colors of pink with swirls instead of flowers, soo cute. I also made her a rag quilt that I forgot to take pictures of. :(
oh it's also reversible if you decide you want the pockets on the outside for some reason you can.

an Easter dress for my Babe..

made March 2008

I made Annie this cute Easter dress, and a matching skirt for myself.
yeah we matched, but it's ok cuz she is tiny and Easter was the only time we wore them together.
the dress top and little diaper cover were made out of this embroidered linen along with my skirt, and the bottom of her dress was just regular linen. with a matching blue ribbon sewn on in front and ties in the back.
